Mitel Deskphone Setup

Setting up Mitel phone

1. Write down the MAC address on the back of the phone. The MAC address should be on the back of the phone below the handset on a white sticker. Taking a picture of the MAC address works too.
2. Locate the Ethernet port on the back of the Mitel phone. 
3. Plug in the network cable in the Ethernet port
4. Plug in another network cable in the computer port and connect it to the computer. 

Hint: Computer port is the left port and Ethernet/LAN port is the right port on the Mitel phone. (May be hard to see)

The phone will then boot up (it'll take a few minutes)

Configuring Mitel Phone

Sign into the Mitel system online, portal.shoretelsky.com. Click > Phone System > Phones

1. Search for the MAC address you wrote down by typing it in the MAC address field. 
2. Click the blue address link
3. Assign user by clicking the down arrow next to the user field
4. Select location, if needed
5. Click save
6. Look at the phone, it should automatically register to the user. This may take a few minutes.
7. If it doesn?t register, try assigning the user again and wait another minute. 

Troubleshooting steps

If the MAC address is not found after a search, click add phone and type in the MAC address in the MAC address field. Continue with step 3.

If phone doesn?t register in a few minutes after adding a user in the system, try rebooting the phone. Rebooting can be done by unplugging the network cable waiting 30 seconds and plugging it in again.
